Merchant & Mills Haremere Jacket
I haven't updated this blog in AGES so the next few posts may be fairly brief as I attempt to remember the details! I made this jacket & trouser set over the summer from some black linen from Fabricland - £7 a metre so I bought 4m & got jacket, trousers & camisole top (not pictured) out of it.
The pattern is Merchant & Mills Haremere Jacket, size 12. I think I could have gone down a size and still had it fit but like the oversized look.
The pattern calls for a half-lining which I skipped as I wanted it to be as light as possible. This meant the finish inside around the neckline is not as neat as it would have been otherwise - I just pressed and zig-zagged the visible seam allowance - but especially in black, I don't think it's especially noticeable.
This jacket is very easy to wear and I particularly like the dropped shoulders and the big pockets. You can get a lot in those pockets, I think I fit my Kindle in there at one point.
